The Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute is proud to help students further their education as they continue to “promote western coal through education”. Eight Engineering/Geology scholarships are awarded annually to students at a four-year university entering their junior or senior year. Students must be a resident of one of the eight RMCMI member states and looking for a career in the coal industry. The scholarships are $2,750 per year and may be given for up to two years. The selected students are also offered an all-expense paid trip to the RMCMI Annual Meeting & Conference in late June where they have the opportunity to meet industry leaders and attend all the technical sessions.
Additionally, eight Technical School scholarships are awarded to students in technical programs who hope to take their education into the coal industry, where there is a great demand for technical applications. This is a one-time $1,000 award.
APPLICATIONS FOR 2019 ARE CURRENTLY BEING ACCEPTED.
