A Committee of three to four additional members shall be appointed by the Chair with one of the members appointed Chair-Elect or Co-Chair. The additional committee members can be an asset to this committee by suggesting additional ideas for the MR Evaluation and supporting the Co-Chairs by making follow-up calls, sending out information, etc. A Board Liaison will also sit on the committee. Duties of this committee are to present a Mine Rescue evaluation program during convention.
In the fall or spring, the committee will make a site visit to the convention property, working there with the local safety personnel, the property conference coordinator and others concerned with the program.
In early January the committee shall send Mine Rescue inquiry packets to various mines in the eight member states where RMCMI has members. These packets include a preliminary plan for Mine Rescue teams at convention and request a written commitment from the teams to attend the Mine Rescue Evaluation for that year
In early February the committee shall follow-up with team captains and also secure evaluators. The latter are offered hotel, travel, and meals during convention.
At this time the office will send the registration information and waivers to those teams that have agreed to attend.
In April all teams shall have convention registered and paid for their attendees, observers, spectators and guests.
The Committee shall oversee the lockup room(s) for equipment at convention, chair all meetings concerned and the Awards Breakfast where team awards are presented.
A budget shall be presented to the Board of Directors for approval of expenses needed to accomplish the above.
The report of the Mine Rescue Committee shall be furnished to the Executive Director no later than May 1 in a written document that will be acknowledged at the Annual Meeting and reprinted in the Post Convention Newsletter in the minutes of the Annual Meeting.
